Data Supporting SI

One of the most important aspects of SI is the assessment that is compiled to support the program.

At the conclusion of each semester, the SI program is
assessed to determine its effectiveness in achieving the
programmatic goals and overall impact of the program on student success.

Current assessment measures include:

  • Student retention within SI courses
  • Student performance within SI courses
  • Student perception/satisfaction of SI program
  • Impact on student persistence to graduation

Program History

Salisbury University's Supplemental Instruction program was piloted during the fall 2009 semester with 9 courses, supporting over 200 students.  Since then, our program continues to grow each semester as students, faculty, and administrators see the value that SI adds to classroom learning.  Now, our program supports over 95 course sections and more than 3,000 students each semester.
