Questions and Answers

Q: What are your office hours? 

A.  During the summer we are open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  During the school year we are open Monday -Thursday 8 a.m.- 9 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Sunday 5 p.m.- 9 p.m.

Q: What types of services do you offer?

A.  Our services include, but are not limited to, the following:  Tutoring, Academic Coaching, Supplemental Instruction, Student Success Workshops, and more.

Q: Do I need to make an appointment for tutoring?

A.  No.  Our tutoring services are on a first-come, first-serve basis.  See the Tutoring Page for more information.

Q: Who are the tutors?

A. The CSA's tutors are Salisbury University students who have excelled in the courses and topics they offer.  All of our tutors are faculty-recommended and have been trained in tutoring techniques to help you succeed!

Q: If I need help with time management, study skills, etc. can the CSA help me?

A. Absolutely.  We offer both workshops and one-on-one Academic Coaching sessions with our Graduate Assistants.  Workshops and Academic Coaching  both offer specific and specialized help with a variety of student success topics, such as study strategies, test taking strategies, time management skills, motivation, and note taking.  To request a workshop (for a group) or an Academic Coaching appointment (for individual students), call the CSA.

Q:  How long are the workshops? 

A.  Like Academic Coaching meetings, workshops vary in length from 30 to 60 minutes.  We are happy to come out to the residence halls to offer workshops as well.  Ask your R.A. to set up a workshop for your floor!

Q: How do I make an appointment?

A.  To make an appointment call (410) 677-4865 during our office hours or stop by our office, room 213 in the GUC.

Q: How much do your services cost?

A. All our services are free! 

Q: If I have questions about advising where do I go?

A. Check on GullNet to see who your advisor is and make an appointment with your advisor.  If you are still deciding on a major, come to the CSA or stop by Career Services.  We'd both be glad to help! 

Q: Can I get help with my writing skills?

A.  The University Writing Center across the hall in GUC 206 can help you with all your writing needs. 

Q:  May I use the computers? 

A.  Yes!  As long as they are not in use for training or tutoring sessions, they may be used by all students.
