  1. Gain strategies to use in furthering the education of TESOL students

      Students Goals:

  1. I would like to learn the needs of ESOL students.
  2. I would like to learn how to meet the needs of ESOL students.
  3. I would like to become a better teacher of all students.
  4. I would like to make a difference in my school by in-servicing the staff on ways they can reach ESOL students.
  5. I would like to pursue my certification as an ESOL teacher.

  1. To acquire an understanding of how to teach English as a second language
  2. To gain knowledge on how to better assist my ESL learners in reading, writing and speaking English
  3. To understand the technical aspects of linguistics and the language learning process
  4. To eventually take newly acquired knowledge beyond the school and into the community
  5. To gain a level of expertise in teaching English as a second language that will enable me to teach English abroad
  6. To become a certified ESL teacher

Students Goals:

 

  1. Aid current ESOL students in my school
  2. Learn techniques to use in the classroom
  3. Eventual certification as a TESOL instructor
  4. Gain knowledge to work with the TESOL teacher at my school to develop better ways to assist ESOL students
  5. Bring information back to my school to help ALL teachers in helping ESOL students in regular education

       Students Goals:

 

  1. I would like to gain knowledge and skills to help all my students achieve.
  2. I would like to better understand other cultures.
  3. I would like to build relationships with other individuals interested in the TESOL field.
  4. I would like to raise awareness and cultural sensitivity towards ELLs.
  5. I would like to take advantage of job opportunities in the TESOL field.

      Students Goals:

  1. A renewed enthusiasm about learning and new methods/techniques to help students become more successful
  2. A thorough understanding of what ELL students are faced with as new language learners and how to help relieve some of these stresses
  3. Techniques and methods to share with my colleagues that will be successful for all learners
  4. Open my personal paradigms to understanding the changing needs, expectations and barriers for our diverse population
  5. To have the opportunity to study with my colleagues and exposure to top-notch professors in the field
