Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

Selection to BGS is made at the beginning of each spring semester by the MBA Director, based on the following criteria:

  1. The top 20% of eligible students are selected based on Grade Point Average (GPA). Eligible is defined as students who have completed 15 credit hours or more of graded, 600 level MBA courses as of the end of the Winter term for that academic year. The GPA from only 600 level courses is used.
  2. The number of students invited to join is based on the number of students eligible.

Students are notified by mail or in their MBA classes of their invitation to join. Late in the spring semester, students, who have accepted the invitation, attend an honors ceremony during which the BGS designation is conferred.
