You are expected to arrive at Salisbury University no later than the
"report date" indicated on your I-20. There are important activities
taking place before the academic year starts (such as the mandatory
orientation) in which you will participate.
U.S. consulates and embassies will usually issue the F-1 visa as much as
120 days before the "report date." If you must arrive later than the
report date on your I-20, contact us immediately.
The report date for Fall 2007 is
Monday, August 27th - this
is when classes start. The MBA program
will hold an orientation on Saturday, August 25th; the mandatory
orientation for all students is scheduled for Sunday, August 26th (times
and location will be announced at a later date)
Orientation
At the
beginning of the semester all students are required to attend a
mandatory orientation program. This program will provide an
opportunity for you to meet other international students and the
International Student Advisor.
This is when we introduce and discuss the immigration regulations
international students must know. We will also discuss such topics as
employment, the US education system, how to obtain your US social
security number, hints on settling into a new culture, as well as answer
any of your questions. At the conclusion of this program, we will
provide a guided tour of campus and an opportunity to go shopping in
local stores.
