Graduation Information

Congratulations! All of your work has paid off and you are ready to graduate!

Before you can be cleared for graduation, you need to complete the application for graduation in GullNet. For those of you planning to graduate in December, the deadline is May 15. The deadline for May graduation is November 15th.

If you are within a few credits of graduating and want to walk in the graduation ceremony early, you may apply to do so. The Commencement website has the application to walk early as well as information on the graduation ceremony.

You will need to be dressed in full academic regalia for graduation. You may purchase your academic regalia through the SU Bookstore. If you are an undergraduate graduating with honors, you will receive your honors hood when you pick up your regalia.

Some clubs and organizations also wear cords with the regalia to signify membership. Check with the leaders of your club or organization to see if this applies to you.  Members of Phi Alpha receive gold cords during the induction ceremony that may be worn at graduation.

For Graduate students, there is an additional hooding ceremony that takes place the evening prior to the graduation ceremony. This is a special event and one you should plan to attend!
