Bachelor's Program
The bachelor’s program prepares graduates
through the use of both standard classroom study and practical
field experience. Field experience, which is critical to
education, is provided in social agencies throughout the area to
provide seniors with the “hands-on” knowledge necessary to
develop entry-level skills.
To make the program more accessible, the
Bachelor's program is offered at three satellite program
locations:
Cecil
College,
Eastern Shore Higher Education Center
at Chesapeake College, and the
University
System of Maryland at Hagerstown. The department also
participates in a unique cooperative dual-degree program with
the University of Maryland
Eastern Shore (UMES). Students can earn both a Bachelor of
Arts in sociology from UMES and a Bachelor of Arts in social
work from SU.
