For Satellite Students
Welcome to Field!
The satellite program follows the same application process
and guidelines as the main campus. Be sure to familiarize
yourself with the information in the links to the right that
apply to your program standing.
General Field Information for Satellite Students
Students who are enrolled in the program are to submit their
applications to the field office at the end of the fall
semester. Students who are applying for the MSW Advanced
Standing program will submit their applications to field with
their program enrollment packets.
The Satellite Field Education Coordinator will work closely
with students to discuss their field applications, arrange for
agency interviews and to confirm internships for the following
school year. This process generally starts early in the spring
semester.
Placements/Agencies
The social work department works closely with agencies in our
satellite areas that offer a wide range of services. The goal is
to place students in agencies of their practice interest. The
field office attempts to place students in the areas in which
they work or live. However, satellite students are still
required to follow the same regulations set up for all field
students in our program; that is that they must be willing to
drive to agencies within a 50 mile radius.
Placement Days/Times
The department works with the student and agency to arrange
the days that the student will report for their field hours. The
goal is for the student to become an active part of the agency.
Due to supervision and student learning needs, the field office
does not guarantee weekend or evening placements. To
complete field practicum, students need to be available to
complete their internships during weekday and daytime hours.
Satellite Field Office Contacts
If you have questions, we encourage you to contact the field
office staff.
