Spring 2013 Applications Due: March 8, 2013

Undergraduate (BASW) Eligibility

An undergraduate student is eligible for active membership when he or she has:

  • Declared Social Work as their major

  • Achieved an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher
  • Achieved a 3.25 GPA in Social Work courses
  • Completed nine (9) credit hours of Social Work Courses prior to the Spring 2013 semester
  • UMES students may apply if they are working toward an undergraduate degree of Social Work from Salisbury University
  • Members are required to attend two (2) meetings and participate in two (2) activities during the academic year

Application Process:

Applications are due in the Social Work Office by March 8, 2013. A fee of $40 (CASH ONLY) along with a copy of your transcript (available at the Registrar's Office) must be turned in with your application. The $40 fee covers the cost of your membership dues and honor cord. If your application is NOT accepted, your money will be returned.

Turn in your signed application, transcript, and $40 cash between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday to Susan Mareski, Administrative Assistant II. Mrs. Mareski will provide you with a cash receipt. 

Graduate (MSW) Eligibility

A Master of Social Work student is eligible for active membership when he or she has:

  • Been admitted into the Master of Social Work program
  • Achieved an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.70
  • Completed 12 credit hours of master level Social Work courses prior to the Spring 2013 semester
  • Members are required to attend two (2) meetings and participate in two (2) activities during the academic year

Application Process:

Applications are due in the Social Work Office by March 8, 2013.
