The Social Work Department as Salisbury University is dedicated to excellence in the education of professional social workers at the baccalaureate and masters level.  Both programs are committed to student-centeredness and active community engagement in the pursuit of social and economic justice.  Therefore, the mission of the department is to prepare competent social work professionals for beginning level generalist and advanced direct practice with individuals, families, and groups.  In addition, the program will provide regional leadership in the provision of professional development, service, consultation, and research to advance the well-being of the region served and will contribute to the expansion of social work knowledge.
