Reading Assessment
When a child is accepted for tutoring the first session(s)
will involve assessment of his/her reading abilities. These are
formal and informal evaluations and are designed to help us
determine your child’s strengths and needs. Based upon the
results of the assessments an individualized instructional plan
is developed and used by the tutor to teach your child.
- What Reading Materials will be used?
When tutoring children we use non-fiction and fiction books,
magazines, newspapers, etc. that are appropriate for the
child’s individual reading level and that are of interest to
the child. We have an extensive collection of materials at
the Center.
