Have you been in the resource center? You have probably walked past us on your way to or from class. Why not stop in to see what it’s all about.

The Curriculum Resource center includes Room 226 in the TETC building which is between 226A and 226T on the second floor. In total, there are 5 parts to it.

When you walk in the first thing you pass is the Powell Reading Room. This is our quiet study area, also known as the lamp room.  It’s a great place to curl up and get some studying done, or to have a quiet moment to yourself.

If you continue further past the desk, you will find a collection of resources. This area is full of children’s literature books, puppets, along with a variety of other books. There are also tables and chairs and carrels where you can study or work in small groups. The books can be checked out for you to enjoy. Most of the books are cataloged in the computer and if you ask at the desk, we will gladly help you.

There are also two rooms which have special collections in them. The Maryland Collection Room has books by Maryland authors or illustrators. Some of the books are about Maryland and the eastern shore. The other room houses the environmental collection which includes the Green Earth Book Award winners as well as other books that deal with the environment and environmental issues.

Hidden away is a seminar room which is for larger groups.  Please let us know if you wish to use it. We hope that you will come by the Curriculum Resource Center now and use it both to study in, for class assignments, or just to borrow a good book.
