Marie Cavallaro is a three dimmensionalist artist whose primary media is clay with multimedia additions of fiber, feathers, and drawing materials to create more painterly sculptures. Influenced by the environment, it is natural that the Mayan figures from Mexico, the sunsets over the Irish Sea in England, and the fish, fowl and landscapes from the Eastern Shore of Maryland are primary subjects. An Associate Professor at Salisbury University, Ms. Cavallaro received an AA degree from Corning Community College, Corning, New York; a Bachelors at the State University College at Buffalo, and a Masters of Art at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee. In 1976, she led an Art Study Tour of Mexico and in 1978 was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship as Visiting Lecturer at Southport College of Art, Southport, England. |
