Meet the Musicians
|
|
Julie A. Barton - Oboe Tell us about your most cherished musical experience. Two summers at the New England Music Camp in Oakland, ME, was an awesome experience. I played with the Boston Pops while attending the University of Delaware and at Carnegie Hall with my school band in junior high. While with the SSO, I had the opportunity to play with the Moody Blues. The list of playing different places with different groups goes on and on. |

Susan Parker – Violin
What keeps you
coming back to the SSO each year?
I love the music,
I love playing my violin, and probably most importantly,
it’s the friendships and sharing a common interest with
fellow musicians. |

Bobbie
Thamert - Violin
What is your
favorite style of music to play? To listen to?
Baroque is fun to
play, but Romantic is my favorite to listen to. |

|
Susan Zimmer - Flute & Piccolo
If you had to
play a different instrument, which would you choose? Why?
I want to learn
soprano saxophone, but so far it sounds like a
frightened goose.
I also know several tunes on the banjo and the
harmonica, but I hope that no one will ever depend upon
my playing any of these. |
