2009-2010 Concert Season

  • Winter Concert December 12, 2009 - 7:30 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium

    "Romantic Holiday" featuring Guest Violinist Anton Milller.

    Since giving his Carnegie Hall concerto debut with the New Chamber Orchestra of New York, American violinist Miller has appeared throughout the United States and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician, recitalist and pedagogue. Miller gave the world premiere performance in Beijing, China, of Xiogang Ye’s Last Paradise for violin and orchestra, which was taped for broadcast within Asia and subsequently released on CD. His complete discography can be found on the Dorian, Jericho, Full House, Hugo and Klavier labels.

    Selections to be performed include Violin Concerto in D major by Johannes Brahms, Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla by Mikhail Glinka, and selections by Johann Strauss and violin pieces by Kreisler.

  • March Concert March 6, 2010 - 7:30 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium

    "An Evening of Baroque Music" featuring Harpsichordist and Early Music Specialist
    Gwen Toth

    Toth is one of only a few American conductors of historical performance ensembles and orchestras. Currently, she is the director and founder of New York City’s virtuoso period instrument ensemble, ARTEK.

     

  • Spring Concert May 15, 2010 - 7:30 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium

    "Musical Tour of Europe" featuring Jeffery Schoyen in a Performance of Haydn's Cello Concerto in C major

    Schoyen graduated with distinction from the New England Conservatory of Music where he was a student of Lawrence Lesser. He completed an M.F.A. at Carnegie Mellon University as a student of Anne Williams and a D.M.A. at Stony Brook as a student of Timothy Eddy.


All concerts are in Holloway Hall Auditorium on the campus of Salisbury University. All evening concerts are now at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
