International Exchange

Overview
As one of the four major objectives of the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University as stated in the School's plan for 1996-2002, Creating Our Vision of Business School Excellence for the 21st Century is to "Prepare students for leadership in 21st century international/global enterprises and serve the international needs of the local business community," the importance of creating and fulfilling international exchanges will become one of the main focal points of the Perdue School's objectives in reaching this goal.

Network of International Business Schools
The Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University is one of the founding members of the Network of International Business Schools which was formed in 1993. The purpose of this organization is to provide a forum for collaborative efforts among the member schools. As a result of this network, many schools have developed student and faculty exchanges, an international case competition was organized and an annual meeting is held each year offering member institutions the opportunity to present papers and workshops. Today, over 50 schools from all parts of the globe constitute the Network of International Business Schools and the organization continues to grow.

The formation of international exchanges will provide a wider range of opportunities for business students to study abroad, encounter international students and work with businesses and business leaders of foreign countries. The strategic plan for exchanges includes:

  • Enhancing current exchanges in Western Europe
  • Broadening the scope of exchanges to include Latin America
  • Extending the region of exchanges to include Asia
  • Entertaining any other potential exchange agreements

Current International Exchange partners include:
