Bobbie Thamert
Bobbie Thamert taught strings in the Wicomico County public
schools for 37 years, retiring in June 2010. She taught
beginning-fourth-grade students and continued with them through
twelfth grade. She touched thousands of children’s lives with
the gift of music. Thamert graduated from Clarion University in
Pennsylvania. She also took graduate courses at Duquesne
University in Pittsburgh and at Salisbury University.
She plays principal second violin in the Salisbury
Symphony Orchestra. One of her highlights was during her Clarion
years when she tutored David Kim. David is now the concertmaster
of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
