Assistive Technologies and Services

The library provides an Accessibility Room (AC115) with a Kurzweil Reader, an electronic print magnifier, and a Windows PC with JAWS software (Job Access with Speech) for the visually impaired. ZoomText will enlarge text for visually impaired readers. It can be used in conjunction with JAWS, but it cannot be used with Kurzweil.

At the Library Service Desk, patrons may check out the Nemo, a pocket-sized digital magnifier that enlarges any text from print or digital resources. The reader has a 3-hour loan period and must remain in the Academic Commons.

For questions about or issues with Accessibility Room software or equipment, please contact the Technology Librarian, Chris Woodall (cmwoodall@salisbury.edu). Students can also contact the SU Office of Student Disability Support Services for help.
