Support SU’s outstanding students and faculty by investing in the SU Libraries. The Libraries are at the heart of the University. By helping us, you help ALL of SU’s students and faculty, since the SU Libraries serve all schools and departments. Whether students are developing a business plan, exploring history and culture, preparing to teach, or conducting experiments, they share a need for information. And the SU Libraries provide a wide array of information resources—and the training and technology to effectively use them—for the entire campus.
Here are some ways to invest in academic excellence at SU:
1. Support our collections and activities: Monetary gifts of any size are welcome. Annual fund gifts help pay for acquisitions of books and other materials, textbooks to put on reserve, technology, events, activities, exhibits, digitization of rare materials, and training. Interested in a specific discipline? Create a collections endowment for that area through the Salisbury University Foundation.
2. Support our new building: The SU Libraries moved into the brand-new Guerrieri Academic Commons in 2016. This new library is the centerpiece of campus and a gathering place for students and faculty: a place to do research, collaborate with others, get help with academic needs, or engage in contemplative learning. If you wish to honor a loved one or someone special in your life, please consider funding a naming opportunity in one of our spaces. The funds will be placed in an endowment to help support the activities that take place in that space. Numerous naming opportunities are available. 3. Honor a loved one, friend, or favorite professor through our Honor and Memorial Tributes program: Using your donation, we will buy a book or other item needed to support SU’s curriculum, providing an electronic book plate or another acknowledgment in that person’s honor or memory. 4. Give books, archival materials, and other items: We accept donations of books, either for addition to the collections of the SU Libraries, or to sell in our annual book sale to raise money for the Libraries. The Nabb Center for Delmarva History and Culture functions as the SU Libraries’ University Archives and Special Collections. It accepts archival materials, rare books, and other gifts-in-kind that meet the needs of our students and faculty. These can be Delmarva-related for addition to the Nabb collections, related to SU history for addition to the University Archives, or related to U.S. and world history and culture for addition to Special Collections.
