Interdisciplinary Studies Major(IDIS) - Individual Track

Holloway Hall
Meet a few of our majors . . .

Zech Zoener – Combining Psychology and Conflict Resolution

“In PYSC, I would like to focus on psychology pertaining to the law as well as drugs and behavior. In CADR, I would like to concentrate on domestic relations and negotiations. I am pursuing a career in law enforcement, which requires extensive knowledge from these two areas of study.”

Erin Long – Combining Conflict Resolution and Communications

“I want to combine CMAT/CADR in order to work towards being a guidance counselor. I feel the skills and experiences I can gain through these two academic disciplines will assist me in achieving my future career goals.”

Charles Davis – Combining Psychology, Social Work and Sociology

“I want to combine SOWK/PSYC/SOCI in order to gain the educational background necessary for me to graduate and open my own outreach center. My goal is to specifically work with people who need assistance in addictions, therapy and other general counseling needs.”

Brandi Lane – Combining Art, English and Psychology

“The reason I would like to pursue a major in interdisciplinary studies is because I would like to continue my education and get my master's in art therapy. There is no program at Salisbury University that would allow me to pursue a bachelor's for art therapy, so I would like to take courses in Psychology and Art that would specifically help me to achieve that goal. I have chosen to also take classes in English because it is another subject I have a strong interest in and I feel that it can be used in any field that I choose in the future. The ability to write and speak well are traits that can be appreciated universally and if I choose a therapy position that works with children or young adults, I feel that these skills will be of use to me in helping them.”

Scott Roebuck – Combining Business Administration and Political Science

“In Business, I plan to work in the fields of management and finance. In Political Science I’d like to focus on governmental policies and ideologies, both national and international. Therefore I will have a firm base to go into international business for the federal government.”
