Hi everyone, my name is Jeremie Barbosa, but you can call me Jamie! I am a sophomore Honors student with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Computer Science. I work as a Resident Assistant in the freshman honors residence hall, Manokin Hall. I also work as a Univeristy Host for Salisbury University.
The clubs and organizations around campus that I am grateful to be part of are Asian and Pacific Islander Club, American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Honors Student Association, and Student United Way. When I am not in class, on duty, or at club meetings, I do research with Dr. Nyland in Henson Hall on how arsenic exposure impacts mechanisms of disease.
The place that I call home now Glen Burnie, MD, but I graduated from a high school in Illinois so I know what it is like to be in an unfamiliar place for a brand new adventure! In the future, I hope to continue doing research in epigenetics and biotechnology in order to help create a positive impact for many more people that are suffering due to an ailment or disease.
If you have any questions on anything and everything, please contact me! I would love to talk with you and connect you to this beautiful campus that I call home away from home!
