The Communication Arts department at Salisbury University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Media Production. This is a tenure-track position.
Primary Job Duties: Teach undergraduate courses in our popular media production track. This includes audio production, studio and field video production, writing for media, introduction to media, and other assigned courses demonstrating a variety of skills in the area of expertise. Demonstrate appropriate levels of scholarly activity, service (contributions to university, professional, and community committees, organizations, and groups), student academic advisement, and effective teaching and classroom management strategies that enhance the success of diverse learners.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in Communication or related field, with strong preference for candidates with a Ph.D. If ABD, the candidate would be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the requirement that doctoral degree is completed within one year of hire date. Applicants must show evidence of production and aesthetic aspects of media production and knowledge of relevant hardware and software to incorporate current production practices into classes.
Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of effective teaching and experience in several aspects of media production and in areas of academic specialty.
