Applied Health Physiology Faculty, Open Rank
Faculty Position (11535)

The Department of Health Sciences at Salisbury University is accepting applications for a faculty position within the Master of Science in Applied Health Physiology program. Faculty rank will be based on candidate qualifications and experiences. This is a full-time tenure-track position.

Area of Specialization: Exercise Physiology, specifically applied exercise physiology as defined by the Committee on Accreditation for Exercise Sciences (CoAES).

Primary Job Duties: Teach in the Applied Health Physiology (AHPH) program, with potential to serve as AHPH Program Director and maintain CoAES-mediated Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accreditation. Additionally, provide instruction, curricular development, and research guidance across the AHPH curriculum. The AHPH program currently enrolls around 30 students and is CAAHEP accredited, which increases program visibility and harmonizes program expectations with national standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD preferred (ABD and Masters considered) in exercise physiology, or relevant field, and appropriate work-related experience in applied and/or clinical exercise physiology.
  • Before employment start date, professional credential achievement of at least American College of Sports Medicine-Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP).
  • Before employment start date, successful American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association) course completion.
  • Before employment start date, successful Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association) certification/course completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Strength and Conditioning—Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS).
  • An additional credential in cardiac monitoring (i.e., Cardiovascular Credentialing International-CRAT or CCT)
  • Higher education administrative/supervisory experience and program accreditation experience highly desirable.
