The English Department at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the U.S. (MELUS). This is a full-time tenure-track position.
Area of Specialization: Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the United States (MELUS) with a primary area of specialization in either Asian American, Latina/Latino, or Native American Literatures.
Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: Teaching three four-credit courses per semester in introductory Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the United States as well as upper level courses in primary area of specialization; helping build both the Ethnic and Global Literatures minors and the English major as well as working closely with the implementation of existing courses and the development of new courses; participating in the activities and service of the department and university. Utilization of effective teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in English by time of appointment (MELUS or specific area of specialization mentioned above).
Preferred Qualifications: Secondary interest in American Studies.
