Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant I for the 4-year grant-funded Toolkits for Leadership Development project, in the Department of Nursing. The Leadership Toolkit project is a multi-faceted program to develop web-based instructional resources for nursing students and area health professionals.
Primary Job Duties: Provides a full range of clerical support to the faculty and staff associated with the grant project including front-desk customer service and phone coverage. Maintains office supplies and provides back-up support to other administrative support personnel within the department. Processes mail and prepares purchase requisitions/general work orders. Creates and maintains hard copy and digital files and records. Schedules events and activities and monitors the progress of work completion. Serves as a resource to the public and all the departments within the university. Ensures confidentiality in the handling of sensitive materials at all times.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and two years of experience in an administrative support function. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, administrative, oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task, be flexible and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, demonstrate initiative, project a professional image, and work independently or as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Canvas learning management system is desired.
This is a 19 hour/week, 4-year grant-funded position with benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, prescription, leave, and retirement. The starting salary is $16.34 per hour.
