Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for Retail Food Supervisor.
Primary Job Duties: Under the supervision of the Retail Assistant Manager, the Retail Food Service Supervisor leads contingent and student workers to provide exemplary customer service and quality food options in a clean, hospitable environment of a grill/snack bar operation. The Supervisor must be agile to adjust workforce and assignments to keep up with varying demands of the operations. This position supports an atmosphere of operational excellence through modeling highest levels of customer service, teamwork and efficiency in food and labor and other associated expenses.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in food service; one year must have been as a lead or supervisory role. Must have a working knowledge of Point Of Sale (POS) systems as well as Microsoft Excel and Word. Must be able to acquire ServeSafe certification within 6 months of hire and have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
General knowledge of leadership in customer service oriented food operation. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply standards of quality and quantity production including: food preparation, presentation, portion control, labor utilization and responsiveness to customer requests and concerns. Knowledge and application of federal, state and local health department sanitation and food handling regulations is required. Must have leadership, team-building, problem resolution and follow-through as well as oral and written communication skills. Must be well organized, possess the ability to multi-task and be a strong team player with demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in retail food sales & operation/customer service preferred.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $14.84 per hour.
