Salisbury University, a comprehensive, public university of almost 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students, seeks an innovative and seasoned Associate Vice President of Student Affairs to help lead its vibrant student affairs division. Primary Job Duties: Support and lead the Division of Student Affairs through the development, supervision, and assessment of critical departmental and divisional functions. The AVP is responsible for administrative oversight of areas within Student Affairs including overseeing Student Health Services, Student Counseling Services, Center for Student Achievement and a TRiO grant program. Additionally typical projects include managing students in distress, divisional assessment activities, budget activities, facilities growth, emergency management, policy exceptions, and supporting student success and retention initiatives. The position requires strong interpersonal/human relation skills including a visible campus presence and the ability to effectively interact with diverse campus populations. The AVP will lead the division when the Vice President is off campus.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree and 7-10 years of related experience. Doctoral degree is preferred.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent intercultural, interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
This is a full-time exempt state position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
