Salisbury University’s Department of Health and Sport Sciences, Exercise Science, at the Shady Grove Campus is accepting applications for a 10-month, renewable position of Clinical Assistant Professor. The Exercise Science program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Area of Specialization: Exercise Science, Health, or a related field.
Primary Job Duties: Teach undergraduate level courses in exercise physiology, metabolism, kinesiology, and health in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences as needed. Additional duties include academic advising, university/community service and utilizing effective teaching and classroom management strategies, which enhance the success of diverse learners, including use of online teaching techniques.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Exercise Science, Health, or related field required. Expertise related to Exercise Physiology or Health is a priority. Experience teaching related courses in higher education and experience utilizing course delivery technology.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach content in the areas of Exercise Physiology, Health Fitness Programs & Professions, Nutrition, Health, and Human Performance, Kinesiology, Planning and Assessing Health Programs, Community Health, Research Methods, and Human Sexuality. Preferred certifications include National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C), Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). Have at least one to three years of professional experience.
