Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Systems Engineer in the Information Technology department.
Primary Job Duties: Implement new and existing server based applications for the University with a focus on ensuring the availability, security, and maintainability of those systems. Support SU’s email, learning management system, domain services, file/print sharing, identity & security systems and collaboration technologies as part of the Identity & Access Management Team. Ensure all systems are implemented and maintained by following guidelines established by Maryland State Legislative Auditors regarding data integrity, reliability, and availability.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience. Experience installing, upgrading, and patching complex multi-tier application server environments in an enterprise setting is required. General server, security, troubleshooting techniques and industry best practices is required.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Shibboleth, Windows Server 2012, VMWare, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Powershell and other enterprise applications is desirable.
This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
