Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Multi Trades Supervisor II.


Primary Job Duties: Provides administrative supervision and technical expertise for the general and daily operations of one or more medium to large multi trades work teams involved in a combination of structural trades and mechanical trades work. This position supervises campus carpenters, painters and maintenance mechanics.


Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and seven years progressively responsible experience in the one or more trade(s) where assigned to include at least four years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Comprehensive knowledge of and skill in the methods and techniques of the trade(s) where assigned; OSHA regulations related to the trade(s) areas. Thorough knowledge of and skill in the practical application of paint/coatings, carpentry, building envelope, building finishes, and mechanics as used in maintenance and service work; of basic mathematics including area, volume, weights and the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions; of the principles of supervision in the maintenance trades. Skill in the use, maintenance and storage of equipment and supplies used in the areas where assigned; in reading interpreting, and working from blueprints schematics, drawings, and specifications.


Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to supervise and train skilled and unskilled employees in assigned trade(s) work; to plan and organize maintenance work; to determine sufficiency of cost estimates prepared by others; to prepare specifications for tools, equipment, materials, and supplies; to prepare summaries and reports; to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work from ladders and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies and/or exert force up to 70 lbs.; to concurrently manipulate controls on machinery and equipment; to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Must possess a valid driver’s license with 5 or less points for moving violations.


Preferred Qualifications: Basic computer skills to include email, electronic work order system, requisition and inventory systems and Microsoft Word, Excel.


This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Minimum starting salary is $22.68 per hour. The primary schedule is M-F 7:00am-3:30pm with occasional weekends required. This position is considered essential and will be called upon to provide emergency coverage when necessary.
