Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Engagement Director for Delmarva Public Radio. The Director is a senior manager on the Delmarva Public Radio (DPR) team and reports to the DPR General Manager. The Director is responsible for organizing and implementing DPR’s goals and serves as the organizational leader of all development efforts. The Director provides executive fundraising leadership, solicits gifts from targeted prospects, and represents DPR development efforts to the public.
Primary Job Duties:
Provide strategic leadership to achieve ambitious revenue goals. Prepare annual and long-term development plans and evaluate plan implementation and outcomes. Responsible and accountable for undertaking all supervisory duties. Provide executive leadership as DPR’s development liaison to a variety of entities. Serve on the DPR Senior Management Team. Provide leadership to DPR’s efforts in diversity and inclusion.
Bachelor’s degree; four to five years of progressively responsible management experience in not-for-profit organizations or equivalent; proven track record of achieving revenue targets and deep knowledge of fundraising practices and ethics; demonstrated ability to research, prospect, cultivate, and manage major donors; proven management and leadership capabilities with the demonstrated ability to effectively engage diverse perspectives; strong verbal and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to think strategically; and, strong computer skills and proficiency with donor databases and software.
Significant, applicable public radio/broadcasting fundraising experience; experience utilizing social media tools to promote giving; and, board development and leadership experience.
This is a full-time exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
