The Department of Biological Sciences at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Biology.
Area of Specialization: Vertebrate Biology
Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: The successful applicant will have a strong background in Vertebrate Biology and will be expected to teach Biology of the Vertebrates and Human Anatomy and Physiology. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop an advanced course in their field of expertise. The ability to occasionally contribute to a course in Pathophysiology is also desirable. Engagement in scholarly professional activities; development of a research program amenable to undergraduate participation and graduate student projects and mentoring; and participation in departmental, university and community service are expected. Candidates are expected to use effective teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Vertebrate Biology or related field of Biology and ability to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology. Evidence of teaching experience and potential for excellence in teaching and research and possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. If ABD, doctoral degree must be completed before date of hire.

Appointment will be contingent upon verification of eligibility to work in the U.S. and is expected to begin August 18, 2015.
