Salisbury University is seeking a dynamic and resourceful applicant to join the Salisbury University Libraries as Head of Circulation.

Primary Job Duties: Plans, coordinates, and manages the overall operation of the Circulation Department, including circulation, reserves, inter-library loan, billing services, and building security. This includes hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating two full-time non-exempt staff, six contractual part-time employees, and ten to fifteen student workers, as well as establishing procedures and policies. The position also participates as a member of the library management team and represents Salisbury University at consortia meetings.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree (in any field) and at least 3 years of experience in library circulation services.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior supervisory experience and experience with reserves and inter-library loans.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and proficiency with integrated library systems are required.

This is a fulltime exempt State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $50,000 annually.

The Salisbury University Libraries comprise the main campus library, Blackwell Library; the Curriculum Resource Center; and the Nabb Center for Delmarva History and Culture. The Salisbury University Libraries are user-oriented and have relatively small collections but a dynamic staff with a deep commitment to meeting the information needs of our students and faculty. In 2016, we will be moving into the state-of-the-art Guerrieri Academic Commons, for which ground was broken earlier this year.
