Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant I in Student Health Services.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, performs the full range of moderate to complex administrative support to enhance the day-to-day operations of Student Health Services. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: scheduling appointments, with some knowledge of common health problems and management of patient flow; charting records; answering the phone; filing, fee collections and reports, and composing written correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and 2 years experience in an administrative support function.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: This position handles confidential information and correspondence, and the successful candidate must be able to use discretion and judgment in carrying out assigned duties with considerable consequence of error. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, third-party vendors, community medical professionals and the general public.

Knowledge and experience of medical terminology and applicable laws, rules, and regulations such as HIPAA and/or FERPA. Demonstrated flexibility and comfort working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required and experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt State position with a full benefits package. Minimum starting salary is $14.58 per hour.
