Primary Job Duties: Under direct supervision this position will maintain building interiors and ensure cleanliness, orderliness and attractive conditions in assigned areas. Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, windows, tile, fixtures, equipment and floors. Vacuum, dust and polish specified areas and/or furnishings. Sanitize and disinfect bathroom areas. Gather and transport refuse from assigned areas to appropriate disposal location. Inspect physical condition of assigned areas; submit requests to appropriate personnel regarding repairs, replacements, furnishings and relocation of equipment. Request cleaning materials and supplies from designated areas; mix cleaning solutions according to specifications, load and transport service cart with required materials and supplies to designated work areas. Operate standard cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and mops; and move furniture and equipment as required.

Required knowledge/skills/abilities: Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift up to 30 lbs. and move furniture, equipment and supplies; to transport refuse; and to wear and work in personal protective equipment. The individual must be a customer-oriented team player who continuously projects a positive attitude and image, and possesses the ability to interact effectively with supervisors, co-workers, faculty/staff, students, and visitors to the University.
These are part-time (19 hour) non-exempt contingent positions with no benefits. Starting rate of pay is $10.20 per hour. The work schedule will vary and may change based on the needs of the University. Please note that some weekend work is required.
