Commons Dining Hall features The Market Place and Bistro Café

Featuring heart healthy, comfort food and market trending creations, the Common’s Dining Hall is the best place to satisfy your culinary cravings. In addition to the vast variety of menu options you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy in over a dozen Festival of Food events showcasing local, national and international menus.

Our Market Place is an open kiosk style cafe with over ten different food and beverage stations.

Enjoy made to order tacos on Taco Tuesdays at the Burrito Bowl. Overstuffed burritos, bowls and salads are made to your liking.

Pasta or Pizza? The Market place has both.  Pizza is made from fresh authentic pizza dough with an ever changing daily variety.   The Pasta station offers all the classic Italian favorites along with a weekly chef inspired special creation sautéed to order.

Our friendly service staff can create a made to order cheesy quesadilla or fresh deli sandwich at our Deli bar which has an abundant variety of freshly sliced meats, cheeses, salads and Gluten Free options.  You can pair your sandwich with one of our House made soups.  Don’t miss out on the Cream of Crab or White Turkey Chili. They are the best!

Our 25ft Salad Bar consists of 30 different fresh cut vegetables, cheeses, fresh greens and other toppings.  Locally sourced, farm fresh produce cut fresh daily makes for the best crisp salads.

Plato’s Plate specializes in menus of Gluten Free, Vegetarian, and Vegan options.  Entrees are created in house by Chefs on staff to these dietary preferences.

You’ll find comforts of home at the Roastery with entrees such as fried  chicken, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and fresh salmon. We even offer roasted turkey with all the fixings!

A student favorite is Wok and Roll. A made to order stir fry station with a selection of fresh cut vegetables, a daily variety of chicken, pork, shrimp and/or beef, prepared to order in authentic kettle woks right at the station.

Another very popular Kiosk serving all your ball park favorites is Grillers.  From burgers and boardwalk fries to chicken tenders, this kiosk is definitely a fan favorite and a crowd pleaser.

Nothing is better than pancakes for dinner!  Breakfast is available all day at Eggcetera.  Come get the made to order eggs, omelets and chef’s daily breakfast special.

You will also find a traditional variety of hot and cold cereals, local baked bagels and much more. Saturday and Sunday enjoy breakfast or a late brunch as waffles are served straight from the irons with a variety of fruit toppings, as well as omelets and eggs to order.

The on campus bake shop prepares cakes, pies and cookies and breads baked fresh daily.  A full variety of seasonal fruit is also available.

Bistro Café
Our award-winning chefs are on the cutting-edge of the culinary arts creating exciting cuisine featured in the Commons Bistro. Carved New York strip steak and brisket are always a crowd pleaser. Join us for Festival of Food events throughout the year.  Lobster Fest, Cinco de Mayo, and Made to Order Pizza Night are just a few of the festivals, and you can always look forward to our Homecoming Week Taste of the Chesapeake menu.
